Atlas Guard Access Changes - Official Discussion Thread

Hello Dragon Lords,

Today we’re going to be detailing some new changes to Guard Access in Atlas. Please see below for details on what’s going to be changed:

In the current state players can attack castle guards under the following conditions:

  • They have a primarch on a hostile (non-5TA) castle where they want to attack guards
  • The offensive primarch has more troops on it than the sum of all troops from the castle owner’s team present on the castle.
  • They are not trapped

The change we intend to make will change things so players can attack castle guards under the following conditions:

  • They have a primarch on a hostile (non-5TA) castle where they want to attack guards
  • The offensive primarch has more troops on it than the ( 100% ) sum of all troops from the top 3 (by troop count) from the castle owner’s team present on the castle
  • They are not trapped

This change is aimed at reducing the effectiveness of protecting castles with large numbers of primarchs with low troop loads. We will be watching Atlas activity closely and tuning these values if needed.

Currently this change is projected to go live on March 17th. We’ll be sure to update the community if this changes.

Cheers,

PGRamenWithSoup

Gulp👀

Awesome, now go kill all the small teams, have you considered league, team rankings…

Pirates and teams who love to hit way below their rank must adore you now

Honestly think this is a great change. No one likes hitting 3k prims, hopefully there will be something to hit now.

Obviously this was implemented and will be loved by the teams who will have a couple level 650 taunters sitting on their castles loaded to the brim… but have y’all lost your minds? So basically we now have 2 choices… either someone gets to sacrifice all their troops for terrible glory by being the sacrificial lamb or be bubbled on a daily basis. If this is actually going to be implemented then teams unfortunate enough to have gate castles are going to be crushed. How is this a positive change for the average player on an average team?

Pros:Going to make getting guards, or just killing enemy prims a lot easier and more rewarding.
Cons:Going to make defending a lot more tricky. Teams will have to find a balance of protecting guards while not overloading prims

No. This is stupid, it just encourages single prims sniping castles, and you will just end up with more pirate teams.

A far more sensible solution would have been to base it on the sum of the troops on the attacking team versus the castle owners.
