Dreadfrost Season Comes To Atlas

Hello Dragon Masters!

The current Atlas Darkmire Season ends on Wednesday, December 7 at 2PM PT. All prizes must be claimed by then, as Atlas Darkmire Badges will not be usable in future seasons. The Atlas Dreadfrost Season will arrive the following day, December 8. Teamwork will be of utmost importance as always, so gather the troops and set the skies for battle!

Please Note: The Atlas Dreadfrost Season will end on Wednesday, March 16, 2023 so that the following season does not start during a PvP event.

As with last season, teams in leagues Gold 1 and above will be able to access Atlas. The Dreadfrost season will continue to bring in new blood and new competition!

ATLAS SEASON MAINTENANCE

On Thursday, December 8 Atlas maintenance shields may be enabled in order to prepare for the Atlas Dreadfrost Season launch.

Primarch Stat Buffs can be unlocked to grant your Primarchs up to +25% Attack and Defense ratings until the end of the current Atlas Season. These apply across all the Primarch tiers for each class of Primarch. These will remain unchanged from previous seasons.

EXOTIC GEAR IS BACK

This season we’ll be bringing back all 8 pieces of Exotic Gear from the previous seasons for one last time! They will be split across two branches and gated slightly differently than in the past. This should make unlocking Exotic Gear a little bit cheaper for all players.

Exotic Gear 1 branch

  • Unlocks after completing the two Elite Offensive gear gear branches and the Mythic Offensive gear branch
  • Contains four Exotic Gear pieces
    • Offensive Gloves of the Sorcerer grant a bonus 20% attack speed at max level. This buff applies only to sorcerers. The gloves also grant bonus dragon attack power that applies to any dragon.
    • Offensive Gloves of the Hunter grant a bonus 20% to ammo regeneration rate at max level. This buff applies only to hunters. The gloves also grant bonus dragon attack power that applies to any dragon.
    • Offensive Gloves of the Warrior grants Warrior projectile speed +20% at max level. The gloves also grant bonus dragon attack power that applies to any dragon.
    • Offensive Helm of Invigoration grants 2% chance to reset spell cooldowns when a tower is destroyed at max level. The gloves also grant bonus dragon attack power that applies to any dragon.

Exotic Gear 2 branch

  • Unlocks after completing the two Elite Defensive gear gear branches and the Mythic Defensive gear branch
  • Contains four Exotic Gear pieces
    • Offensive Sword of Healing that provides health to the dragon whenever a tower is destroyed (2% per tower at max level)
    • Offensive Shield of Rage that grants rage to the dragon whenever a tower is destroyed (.1 rage bar per tower at max level)
    • Offensive Ring of Mortal Wounds that reduces healing on towers hit by the dragon’s basic attack by 20% at max level
    • Defensive Helm of Defense that grants 2 extra supershots when actively defending a base

NOTE: As always, Exotic Gear also provides the base stat bonuses of mythic tier gear.

We are offering Exotic Gear for one last time before larger changes to gear come in advance of the Spring season.

ATLAS RIDER BRANCH

The Atlas Rider Branch must be completed to open the new Atlas Champion Rider branch. We have added selectable prizes at all blue shard nodes. Players that already have this season’s Atlas Champion Rider and a sufficient stockpile of blue rider shards can now choose gold packs instead of blue shards.

ATLAS CHAMPION RIDER VIVIAN

The Altas Dreadfrost season will now feature a new Atlas Champion Rider Branch and a new rider with Champion Rider levels. Vivian is this season’s Atlas Champion Rider

  • Champion Rider Branch is unlocked by completing the Atlas Rider Branch, which provides Altas Champion Rider Shards
  • Vivian is the second Atlas Champion Rider
    • Vivian was first released in 2019
    • Vivian rider shards are available as an alternate prize in the Atlas Rider Branch for those who do not have Vivian yet
    • Vivian Rider shards are only available in the Atlas Rider Branch during the Dreadfrost season
  • Completing the Champion Rider Branch provides enough Atlas Champion Rider shards to advance Vivian to level 60

SKILL TREE

CASTLE LEADERBOARD & EVENTS LEADERBOARD

No updates to share other than the usual castle leaderboard scoring and events leaderboard prizing. The updates to castle scoring including the new victory points system that the Lost Islands have added will continue to apply as they have the last couple seasons.

THE LOST ISLANDS

The Lost Islands will disappear and reemerge with new lands to conquer on Wednesday, December 7! More details and full patch notes for the New Lands will be coming later today. Keep in mind that the castle ownership limits and castle leaderboard points will continue to work as they previously have.

How surprising, another defensive atlas rider :man_facepalming:

Can the Exotic sword, shield and ring please be swapped into the Exotic Gear 1 line and the gloves be put into the Exotic Gear 2 line? I really have no interest in more of the gloves or more defensive mythic gear. I’d rather at least be able to claim the offensive mythic gear to get the sword and shield.

It would also be really nice if the optional shards instead of gear could be extended into the mythic or even exotic gear lines. I’d rather claim shards than anymore mythic gear or exotic gloves

You guys have got to come up with something new. The atlas lines are really boring now and do not motivate long time players to push harder. Constantly giving us defensive riders is boring. Newer players do not have access to any defensive riders while veteran players are tired of only getting them. Swap 1 of the regular season offensive champion riders with the atlas one. Also maybe it’s time to bring new riders back into atlas and make some new atlas spell riders. Give people something to actually go for.

@PGAlgodon this is a good suggestion .

I think mythic gear is good to extend the change , exotic is still not popular

Has the hunter glove been fixed to actually be 20% regen rate instead of just flat -0.2s? @PGAlgodon

Why we don’t have gloves to Invokers?
I’m sad :disappointed:

Hmm now I’m wondering, I never actually considered how much troops you need to kill within a certain range of estimations so how long does it take you guys to get exotic gear I basically had better luck during Darkmire that I managed to rack in about 1.37 m glory. So odds are you have to kill around 1 m troops carefully because of the hospital beds these guys end up going to because major injuries from Atlas attacks.

If you can do around 2m or so glory(which equivalent to 1090k badges) each season, you will unlock one exotic gear branch/4 pieces gears. In order to have it you most likely need to earn 180k badges each glory event(which also equivalent to 360k revives/event)

  • assuming you earn 11.2k glory per 15k troops where 10.5k can be revived

Good point. It could match the hunter 20% ammo reload speed. Go from 4s down to 3.2s.

I don’t want to call it but PG is running out of defensive riders to use by the end of next year because they literally only have 3 - 4 defensive riders left to use. Pretty soon they’re going to have to upgrade the standard riders and move onto their old offensive atlas riders.

No problem. They can release Legend riders L70 and recycle them through again.

No they dont. They have 6 seasonal defensive seasonal riders left (Mackenzie, Maya, Judith, Amalia, Sola and Zosha) and then 4-5 atlas defensive riders left (Crom, Kasima, Ant and Ryva plus Adriel).
It’s offensive ones they’re running out of. If they continue how they are, they have 4 seasons worth of offensive riders left and that’s if they also do Xandra, Adriak and Swann/Malus/Kevana

This season should be Suresh, Hugo and then probably Muertok because Im doubful they’d make Xandra a champion rider. She’s still one of the top riders in the game.

Im guessing they wont even do that. Probably just cycle them back around again at lvl 60. If anything they should give them spells. They added the feature onto the old riders when they created spell riders so they should use it. Even if it was just something generic like resists or reverse projectiles, havok, ect… and then dont have any skills for altering the spell stats.

From that logic then why aren’t they picking offensive riders to be atlas champions? Either way you look at it they’ll eventually run out of champion riders then what will they do?

From what I see is they don’t even want offensive riders to be easy to get anymore.

Not sure why they say that exotic gear is gated differently than the past. Seems identical to last season. :person_shrugging:

Copy/paste from last season which was a change from previous I guess

Well this is your primary problem, you’re looking for logic in the things that they do. There is none and never has been any

It’s the defensive ones that are harder to get by the people who actually need them. Newer players have no access to defensive riders and they’re not going to get far in atlas in order to get one.

Not to mention leveling them up.

Also people out there who can/t load/get into Atlas.

I can confirm I have that problem on occasion in the main game especially in atlas

Will current gear be unavailable after the spring season?
Or will they be compatible?

I haven’t ever competed in Atlas, so could someone tell me how you get badges?
