I’m looking for updated information on Marshals. Is it still the case that only T4&5 castles with appointed Marshals have the advantage of those Marshal’s bases replacing the generic base that T1-3 have. Tyia. Last thread was May 2018.

Marshalls are an abomination and should be removed from T4s and T5s. They absolutely should not be added to other castles

I can. But I don’t really see how the strongest teams in the game should have the extra benefit of not really having to worry about populating their castle because they have a level 700 Marshall on it.
These teams should be able to effectively defend a castle without a marshall.

I was honestly thinking how this feature could help T2 and T3 defend against bullies … imo we need a deterrent from the 500+ that like to whale on our 300’s and castle guard. At least the glory changes have been somewhat of a deterrent for now.
That will just cause stagnation. I have no wish to hit a level 500 base on all castles. That will just cause less offensive play and will make those snipers hit the prims instead of the guards.

I honestly think there’s nothing wrong with 2s and 3s getting guards as well.
I actually agree with this I think marshals on t5s and t4s should be changed to similar to t2s and t3s, maybe longer bases or something and alittle higher dp, but the way the game is atm, certain teams have deep t4s or even now t5s and only own these because they are under a certain blanket protection, and to revenge these teams or take the castle you need basically a team that can all hit 600 plus bases, because most of these teams have thier biggest player as the base.
It just won’t happen, if castle turnover is the key then something needs to happen with t4s and even t5s to make them actually conquerable by more teams, changing marshals would be one key, would mean a low ranked team that has just two 600 pluses can’t just hold them because of those two accounts. And would mean that taking out 3 mil plus guard in a quickly manner would be obtainable, which is how things are now with mega alliances you need to kill guard quick before 20-30 teams bundle in to save them.
Another option is to make you have to own an access t4 or t5 to own a safer one or two, so like one access t4 and you can own 2 deeper ones, and if you lose the access you lose the other two castles to Gustav right away

That’s the idea. Hit the prim instead of the cheap shot guards. At least by hitting a players prim, you are hitting a potentially challenging base. Hitting Gustav guard is a cheap shot to bubbling a castle and no glory earned, so why do it.
The issues for T4/5 and T2/3 are clearly different because of castle access, mega alliances, and deep castles. The marshals at the T4/5 levels sound like they have created stagnation, which is not good. I’m looking at Marshals at T2/3 level to create some competitiveness, but definitely want to avoid the stagnation. I almost never want to become a 5-600 from the way you all make it sound - it ruins the game.
Having marshals on T2s/T3s would be a really bad idea.
Let’s say your team wants to conquer a castle from a similar sized (apr 500) team which has a level 600 marshal. How many players on your team could beat a level 600 base undefended and clear 2M guards to conquer it?
Hitting guard actually is running a risk of carrying a big troop load and losing a lot of the team is active, which I believe the game
Is about, you have 3 loaded prims on a castle makes you have to load higher then those 3 prims, means you risk a lot of troops for one easy hit and if the team is active they trap you and kill you off, it’s perfect should work the same for t4s and t5s as well, if you want to risk the troops for the easy guard hit then you should be able too.
And arguably teams who own t4s and t5s “should” be the most active and decent teams so someone hitting for one easy guard hit they would lose a lot of troops for that one easy hit. Would really only punish teams that aren’t active.

I feel you there, but we have to have SOME kind of protection from diamonds. If PG won’t decrease the TEAM glory scaling then there needs to be some advantage smaller teams have to not be bullied out of them.
Is it really diamond teams or that every plat team has a bunch of 500’s?
It actually pre-dates that I don’t know what the rationale for it was. However one one point you had a large base as the marshall on a T4 owned by tiny teams worth no glory. Was somewhat of a design flaw.
The Marshalls are one of the few things that makes high level land worth holding after they removed the caps on all other infra apart from the refinery and fort.
The guard bases actually weren’t completely useless when they were designed but the tower levels haven’t been updated in my gaming time and weren’t adjusted for research/gear so now they’re garbage.
