The current format for obtaining the seasonal mythic dragons feels like a waste of developer resources compared to how many players get to enjoy it. In order to obtain the mythic dragon a player must complete each line all the way to the end and then buy the evolution stones for the Mythic. Most players in the game are not at the point that going to the end tier is feasible or even desirable. For example: if a player is in green or gold tier then garnet tier dragons are years away.
What I propose is this, if you unlock each of the main line dragons of a certain tier then the Mythic of that tier becomes available as well. I’ve noted a couple posts asking if this was how it is currently set up and complaints that they tried to do this and it wasn’t that way (which it really looks like it should be from in game).
The counter to this is that the Mythic will be less prestigious. While this is true to some extent, I feel that it will still be difficult for most players to obtain at a level that is competitive with their current tier.
My alt is currently in green tier. His goal is to obtain a gold dragon stone and maybe work on a second. A gold dragon stone costs a total of 8,060 sigils. If I could instead go for the Mythic Green, the way I suggest, it would cost 9,410 Sigils. I feel this is a fair price for 4 decent/good dragons for my level that wont grow with me at all. For the same 16,120 sigils that it would take to get 2 gold tier dragons (which he could grow in to) he would only get 1 and 3 green dragons. It’s still a trade off.
A gold mythic with my proposed change would cost as much as taking one line all the way to obsidian. As a current gold player myself this is barely/maybe within reach by the end of the season. In order to get a platinum tier dragon with my suggested change I would need 33,130 sigils a very unlikely target to reach without spending, but it would let me get close enough that I had a target I could spend and reach.
