As @Kardul and I were discussing in their AMA, anime is something many have strong opinions over.

This thread is intended to allow us to discuss our favourite anime!

A short selection of some of my favourites, in no order (maybe updated as I recall more):

  • The Guyver (prefer 1989 version; nostalgia)
  • Neon Genesis Evangelion
  • Fullmetal Alchemist (both)
  • Dragonball (mostly Z, GT and Super)
  • Naruto
  • Tekkaman
  • Soul Eater
  • Legend of the 4 Dragon Kings (Sōryūden)

No, Pokémon and Digimon don’t feature here - I was always more of a fan of the games and pocket pets!

Yeah Yugioh got lame after Arc-V where everything just turned depressing and was too identity crisis of an anime it’s like we were watching a reverse My Hero Academia

Yes! It’s a really good anime. But then again, I’ve said that about every anime I’ve watched. :face_with_monocle:

Oh there are definitely some difficult ones to watch!

Some of the classics can be the worst and I won’t discuss the contents or name them as it is not appropriate for the forums.

More recently, Berserker and TerraFormars had its moments, too!

I’m not exactly sure what anime is. Was samurai jack anime? I liked that show.

That’s a really good point. Traditionally, the term was reserved for cartoon depictions of Japanese comic books called Manga. Now the term is much looser and can encompass many animated shows from Asian regions; but, usually it still needs to have been a print form first.

List of anime I enjoy:
Elfen lied
Berserk ( the manga is superior in term of art and story but it’s still acceptable , the 1996 version not the 2016 abomination)
Boku no hero academia
Tokyo ghoul ( the manga is ways better)
Parasites: the maxim ( this one I kinda like both manga and anime)
Dorohedoro ( the manga is creepier vibe but not a bad CGI anime)
Kimetsu no yaiba ( the anime is definitely more beautiful than the manga in this case, i watch the mugen train 3 times already :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:)
Forgot theses:
Violet evergarden ( beautiful story)
Full metal alchemist : brotherhood
Fireflies grave ( only cry 8 times while watching)
Deathnote ( the potatoes chips scenes is the best, change my mind)
Ancient magus bride
Inuyasha ( how can I forget this beauty)
